Coming off his victory in the heavyweight title fight over previously undefeated Shane Carwin at UFC 116, there was speculation that the former Gophers heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s next opponent would be Cain Velasquez (8-0-0). Now that fight has been scheduled and confirmed.
UFC president Dana White confirmed that Lesnar will square off with Velasquez at UFC 121, which will be held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Cali. on Oct. 23. Lesnar (5-1-0) will seek to defend his heavyweight title against kickboxing specialist and challenger Velasquez.
