Senior goaltender Noora Räty and freshman forward Hannah Brandt were given weekly honors by the WCHA on Wednesday.
Räty was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week. She recorded two wins last week against then-No. 6 Ohio State. On Friday, she had 15 saves in Minnesota's 7-2 victory. She followed that up with 20 saves in an 8-0 win. She is currently tied with Jody Horak for first on the program's all-time win list with 83.
Brandt was named WCHA Rookie of the Week. She scored two goals and had two assists in Friday's win over Ohio State. On Saturday, she had a pair of assists. Brandt is second in the WCHA with 24 points through eight games; linemate Amanda Kessel is first.
Minnesota will take on North Dakota on Saturday and Sunday in Grand Forks, N.D.
