Man grabbed women’s butts in Marcy-Holmes

Two incidents took place Tuesday and could be related, according to a campuswide alert.

 A man reportedly grabbed the butts of two women in Marcy-Holmes on Tuesday, per a campuswide alert from the University of Minnesota Department of Public Safety. 

Minneapolis police took a suspect into custody Tuesday evening. 

The first incident occurred around noon near the University Recreation Center and the second incident happened about 45 minutes later near the intersection of 11th Avenue Southeast and University Avenue Southeast. The alert noted the incidents are “possibly related.”

The alert described the suspect as a 20-30 year old male who wore a white shirt in one incident and a blue shirt in the other. He had short dark hair, black pants and was carrying bags, according to the alert.
