After more than a year of construction, the Washington Avenue Bridge will reach its final configuration this weekend, according to the Metropolitan Council.
The bridge will reopen with one lane of traffic on either side following a final construction closure beginning at 10 p.m. Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday, June 18. During the closure, construction crews will prepare to resume traffic on the bridge's north end, according to the council.
People expecting to travel the University of Minnesota area this weekend are advised to plan accordingly.
Central Corridor light rail construction continues in Stadium Village, where a series of overnight sidewalk closures will begin next week.
