Dylan Robert Christy, age 21, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 11, 2019.

Dylan was born in 1997 to Dale and Misty Christy in Grand Rapids. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 2016 and was a junior at the University of Minnesota.

Dylan loved his family, traveling, music, sports, volunteering, his brothers from Delta Tau Delta and spending time with all of his friends and his best friend “who he loved like a brother,” Alex Rajala.

Dylan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Christy. He is survived by his parents, Misty and Dale; sisters, Brielle Christy (Zac Quammen) of Minneapolis and Marriah Christy of Grand Rapids; grandmothers, Jean Christy of Grand Rapids and Michele Gooch of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandfather, Robert (Carol) Marcella of Grand Rapids; and special aunts and uncles, Deron (Kristeen), Gina, Mike (LeAnn), Abe, Britta, Tony and Lindsey; and special cousins.

Visitation was Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 12:00 PM at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, MN until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service. Rev. David Anderson and Eric Northard officiated. Following the memorial service, a celebration of Dylan’s life continued at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Grand Rapids, MN from 2:30 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Burial will be at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations received will be used for a memorial in Dylan’s honor.
