On Thursday night at 10:25 p.m., John David Searle, a 44 year old man from St. Paul, was arrested and charged with lewd conduct on the 1900 block of Portland Avenue, according to the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department.

The arrest happened after reports came in from college-age women of a man peeping into the windows of their homes.

Police say that the incident occurred “about four blocks from the University of St. Thomas”, but at this time it isn’t known if the victims were students or not, the Pioneer Press reported.

Searle has been convicted of similar cases spanning the last 20 years.

In 2009, the Pioneer Press reported that Searle was charged with peeping and fleeing a police officer after he was caught looking through a woman’s window in the 200 block of Otis avenue.

And in October 2013, there were “four complaints of peeping in the University of Minnesota area”, according to the Pioneer Press.

According to the police, Searle has been known to “record the victims of his peeping. His last conviction was back in August of 2014 for “felony interference with privacy,” the Pioneer Press said.
