The Gophers men's and women's basketball programs received a $6 million donation to help fund a new basketball facility, the University announced Friday. Former telecommunications executive Robert Eddy supplied the donation for the new building, which will hold administrative offices for both teams, locker rooms and more.
"Bob has been a proud supporter of Gopher athletics and our student-athletes," athletics director Norwood Teague said in a press release. "This most recent gift will provide our men's and women's basketball programs with the facilities, training and support they need to compete with the top programs in the conference and the country."
According to the release, Minnesota has now raised $65 million toward its ongoing facilities project.
