The athletics department announced Tuesday that the price for scholarship seating, or premium seating, at TCF Bank Stadium will increase over the next three years.
The change will increase revenue for the athletics department. This should help offset added expenses to the Gophers’ budget, as well as the cost of attendance, which has increased by 20 percent since 2009.
The Gophers first implemented a premium seating plan when TCF Bank Stadium opened in 2009. The new plan expands scholarship seating across the stadium.
Season-ticket holders who have scholarship seats pay an extra “gift amount” on top of the ticketed price, which the athletics department uses for student-athlete support.
