Well, along with many fellow students, I have been screwed once again by the University. Recently, students who are majoring in the College of Liberal Arts and are planning to graduate this December have found out that the University has changed the graduation date from December 8 to December 15.
I cannot believe how inconsiderate the University is! It sends an e-mail and a letter stating these facts to us, without explanation. The letter and e-mail were short and sweet and seem to show no remorse.
They state: “We understand that this change may cause inconveniences and we sincerely apologize.” Am I supposed to tell my family members, who have planned their lives around December 8, to just change their lives around for this University?
No! I will not. They will most likely not be able to come. This is one of the biggest achievements of my life and now it looks like I have no one to share it with. I am glad to have paid this University so much to get this nice slap in the face in the end!
How can anyone change his plan in little over a month, especially when it is something this big? I feel that the College of Liberal Arts has not handled this situation well at all. I find it hard to believe that it could not find another way to have graduation on December 8, either by changing the time or maybe by having it somewhere else on this extremely large campus.
