After starting the spring season with a pair of losses last weekend, the Minnesota men’s tennis team will certainly have their share of opportunities to rebound over the next few days.
Coach Geoff Young’s squad hosts three matches this weekend at the Baseline Tennis Center. On Saturday, Minnesota plays twice, facing Wisconsin-Green Bay at 10 a.m. before a matchup with No. 36 Oklahoma at 6:30 p.m.
The 52nd-ranked Gophers, who fell 2-5 to Denver and 1-6 to Middle Tennessee State last week, conclude the weekend with a 1 p.m. dual with No. 53 Drake on Sunday.
Women hit the road
The Minnesota women’s tennis team brings a 4-1 record into its 3:30 p.m. meeting with Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, on Saturday.
The Gophers, whose only setback so far this season has been a 7-0 loss to 17th-ranked North Carolina last Saturday, are coming off a 5-2 upset victory over No. 37 North Carolina State in Raleigh, N.C. on Sunday.
Coach Tyler Thomson’s squad also owns wins over Drake, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and South Dakota State.
