Seth Woehrle’s Dec. 11 article regarding the Minnesota Student Association and the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly’s reaction to the Student Legislative Coalition, “MSA follows GAPSA’s lead, votes to withdraw from SLC,” was accurate when stating that we believe the lobbying efforts of University students could be more effective and efficient when run through the student associations.
However, neither MSA nor GAPSA has withdrawn from Student Legislative Coalition. We have put forward a resolution that asks for the restructuring of SLC into a system-wide coalition unfunded by student service fees. SLC would still exist to coordinate the lobbying efforts for the campuses in Morris, Crookston and Duluth, but would be unfunded.
