Today the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group will host the seventh annual Take Back the Night march and rally against domestic abuse and sexual violence.
The rally starts at 6 p.m. at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis. At 7 p.m. participants will march from downtown Minneapolis to Loring Park, where a celebration will feature musicians and local speakers such as Rep. Neva Walker, DFL-Minneapolis.
Global studies senior Kate Suchomel, who organized the event, said this year’s Take Back the Night tries to encourage the involvement of members of the larger Twin Cities community and to get them to participate with University students.
