For the second straight year, and the third time in four years, the Gophers football team will end its season in the Insight Bowl.
Minnesota (6-6) will face Iowa State (6-6) at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz., on Dec. 31.
The Gophers lost to Kansas 42-21 in the 2008 Insight Bowl and blew a 38-7 second-half lead in a 44-41 overtime loss to Texas Tech in 2006.
Iowa State last made a bowl game in 2005, when they lost to TCU in the Houston Bowl. The Cyclones have finished 4-8, 3-9 and 2-10 the last three seasons. This season, they finished 3-5 in the Big 12 but won at now-No. 20 Nebraska on Oct. 24.
