Though you wouldn’t know it from the blustery weather of late, the school year is winding down and the class of ’07 is about to make their way in the big wide yonder.
As they hurry to their last classes, write their last papers and cram for their last quizzes and exams, the Daily asked soon-to-be graduates the big question:
“What are your plans after graduation?”
“I’m going to join the Dow Chemical Company. My job is an R&D senior scientist, senior research engineer. They make water filters, what you use at home – those Brita filters and some big filters, which are used in buildings.”
“The licensure and Master’s program (in education), so I’ll be back for another year. So I’ll have a degree in elementary education, but I can’t do a damn thing with it, unless you go for another year to be licensed.”
“Work at a local funeral home. I wanted to help people with grief, but I did not want to be a grief counselor. It’s about as close as you can get.”
“Well, I’m applying to jobs right now, and I’m waiting to decide which one I want. The one I’m most interested in is an AmeriCorps position. But if I get that job I don’t have to work this summer, which would be awesome.”
