Minnesota men’s tennis player Raoul Schwark was named to the All-Big Ten men’s tennis team this week. The senior from Dalheim, Germany is the first Gophers player to achieve the honor since 2004 to earn the honor two years in a row.
Schwark went 23-15 this season as the No. 1 singles player for coach Geoff Young’s squad. He also managed to maintain a spot in the national rankings all season, hitting his peak as the No. 41 player in the nation.
That 23-15 record was part of an 88-44 career for Minnesota, including a 27-13 record in conference action.
Schwark’s accomplishment makes this the 11th consecutive season a Minnesota tennis player has been selected to the 12-man All-Big Ten team.
