The University Hotel on campus will soon become "industrial schoolhouse chic" as it launches as the Commons Hotel in October, according to a press release from Noble House Hotels & Resorts.
The release claims the new hotel will "embody a sense of inner geek in a chic setting." Guests may partake in Weekly Words with Friends Wine Hour, Retro Bar Bingo, mixology lessons, tech “time out,” or Sudoku sleep-ins.
The hotel will also feature an in-room art gallery, beakers of local beer, Harlequin Happy Hour and a scholarly shopping shuttle for museum shop hopping.
If guests want to extend the geek-chic beyond the hotel, they can embark on destination diversions such as a geek to chic makeover at the Aveda Institute headquarters, a Science Buzz meeting at the Science Museum of Minnesota, personal story and book creation at Loft Literary Center, or a tour of the world’s largest Sherlock Holmes Exhibit at the University of Minnesota.
“The new Commons Hotel is a destination unto itself, fostering a sense of exploration and curiosity among guests by creating an open and inviting environment for travelers to share their passions," said Noble House President Mike Benecke in the press release.
