A Minneapolis woman has been charged with animal cruelty for sealing a 4-month-old puppy inside of a box to be shipped, according to an article on the Star Tribune’s website.
Postal workers became suspicious about the contents of the box after the 39-year-old left and the package fell off the counter and onto the floor.
Stacey Champion brought the box in Tuesday afternoon taped, wrapped in a plastic bag with no air holes. When a postal worker rescued the poodle-mix, no food or water was found in the box. The dog is now at the city’s animal control facility.
The box was to be air-mailed to Atlanta – priority of course.
