A University student was stabbed in an attempted robbery at approximately 9:40 p.m. Monday, according to a University police public safety alert.

The student was hospitalized, but is in stable condition, according to the alert.

The robbery and stabbing occurred as the victim was jogging by 11th Avenue Southeast and Sixth Street Southeast.

The suspect, whose location is unknown, had a gray beard and was wearing black jeans, a green jacket with white on the side and could have been wearing a white hooded sweatshirt underneath the coat.
