A public memorial service for University of Minnesota student Anarae Schunk will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center, 12600 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville.
"We will have a chance to gather, share stories and memories in support of each other during this difficult time," Schunk's family wrote Thursday on the Facebook page created to help find her.
The memorial service will be held until 5 p.m.
Schunk's body was found in rural Rice County on Monday and identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office on Tuesday, according to a Tuesday press release from the Rosemount Police Department.
Schunk, 20, had been missing since Sept. 22 when she reconnected with her ex-boyfriend Anthony Lee Nelson to retrieve $5,000 she borrowed him while they were dating last year.
The same night, Nelson, 31, allegedly shot and killed a man in the parking lot of a Burnsville restaurant, according to a criminal complaint filed last Thursday in Dakota County District Court.
Rosemount police are currently investigating Schunk's death.
