Two attempted armed robberies were reported on the University of Minnesota campus over the weekend, according to all-campus alerts.
One of the incidents occurred at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday near the corner of Harvard Street Southeast and Delaware Street Southeast. The alert describes three male suspects driving a silver sedan and wearing face masks. One of the suspects had a handgun, according to the alert.
Another alert was sent to students just before 11 p.m. on Thursday, saying the suspect was in a dark blue hoodie, other dark clothing and “implied he had a weapon.” The incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection near Nicholson and Eddy Halls.
Both alerts were classified as an emergency. This means the situation poses an immediate threat or imminent danger and requires the community to take immediate action, according to the University’s website.
While the University has seen an uptick in alerts this year, most have not been on campus.
