President Barack Obama’s visit to Minneapolis Tuesday will be to address the members of the American Legion at their national convention.
This is the second visit to the state in less than two weeks. Obama recently visited Canon Falls, Minn.
The American Legion National Convention is entering its last day since it started on Friday.
According to the Star Tribune, seven protestors were seen outside the Minneapolis Convention Center sporting banners urging the President to stop a proposed pipeline project.
Obama is scheduled to address the convention-goers at 11 a.m.
Another notable appearance at the American Legion National Convention was by motivational speaker, Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger.
Ruettiger was a former collegiate football player for Notre Dame University and inspired the motion-picture, “Rudy.”
Ruettiger, a U.S. Navy veteran, was a speaker at the convention, and was presented with an American Legion cap.
An observance of Ramadan also drew thousands of Muslims to an adjacent conference hall at the convention center this morning.
