The Minnesota Daily’s Board of Directors elected Benjamin Bearman its new president at its Nov. 7 meeting.
The board holds elections every year. Bearman, a senior majoring in speech communication, ran uncontested and succeeds last year’s president Jennifer Grubish. His administration includes vice presidents Jesse Simon and Damon Ray.
Bearman plans to continue in the direction of previous administrations and hopes to provide a community service to the University.
“There is no more effective way to get news out than to have it in the Daily,” Bearman said. “Whether it’s advertising or coverage of different aspects of the University, the Daily provides a tremendous service to the University community.”
Bearman said that he planned to continue the Daily’s role as a learning experience for its employees, “to provide the best possible training.”
