Two people were robbed in Southeast Como early Wednesday morning, according to a crime alert from University of Minnesota Police Chief Greg Hestness.
One of the victims is a University student and the other is unaffiliated with the school.
The two were talking outside their vehicles near the Como Student Community Cooperative at the intersection of 27th and Talmage avenues southeast when two suspects threatened them with a gun around 12:25 a.m., the alert said.
The suspects took the victims’ wallet, cell phone and purse, but the cell phone was later recovered in a nearby yard.
Neither were injured during the incident, the alert said.
The two suspects fled to a car with a third suspect waiting in the driver’s seat. The suspects drove westbound on Como Avenue, the alert said.
The alert said no detailed suspect descriptions are available.
Minneapolis police are investigating the crime and ask anyone with information to call the police tip line at 612-692-8477.
