Crews have finished laying new, heated turf at TCF Bank Stadium in preparation for the arrival of the Minnesota Vikings, KSTP reported.
The Vikings will share the stadium with the University of Minnesota Gophers during the 2014 and 2015 football seasons, according to KSTP. During that time, the Vikings’ new stadium will be built where the Metrodome used to stand.
Renovations to TCF Bank Stadium began in early April, and a video from the University shows crews beginning to lay the new turf.
“Minnesota” is now displayed in block letters in both end zones, KSTP reported, and the field has new hash marks and lines for the media.
Crews will also add more heating to the stadium and bleachers to hold up to 2,000 more people, according to the University. With the additions, TCF Bank Stadium will have a capacity of more than 52,000.
