Men
If last season was any indication, the Minnesota men’s tennis squad is poised for national contention.
The Gophers will return 10 of 11 players from last years team, which advanced to the sweet sixteen of the NCAA tournament before being defeated by Stanford, the second time in three years the Cardinal have ended things for the maroon and gold.
Gone is team leader Martin Michalowski. But youngsters like sophomore Harsh Mankad, junior Thomas Haug, and senior Jorge Deunas will be back and looking to advance deeper into postseason play.
Recruits Eric Robertson of Milwaukee and Mate McClain of Burnsville will join the Gopher team, as they look to advance even further in 2001.
