A University of Minnesota-Morris student has been missing for more than a week, according to local law enforcement officials.
Laura Schwendemann, an 18-year-old from Starbuck, Minn., was last seen Oct. 14 at a Holiday Gas Station in Alexandria, Minn., according to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Officials said in a press release Wednesday they do not think she left voluntarily.
Both the Douglas and Pope County Sheriff’s Offices have conducted ground and air searches in a number of townships nearby, a Saturday release said.
An earlier release asked area hunters and farmers to report any unusual activity to the police.
Investigators have spoken with a male subject who was last seen with Schwendemann at a gas station.
Officials believe Schwendemann may have been near a blue house with a three-foot-tall statue that night, which marks the “general area” of their search, but police have yet to find the house, the release said.
