The University of Minnesota will host Unlimited Dance Marathon on Saturday, Feb. 22, through Sunday, Feb. 23, at Mariucci Arena, in an effort to raise money and awareness for University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital.
The University has hosted a dance marathon every year since 2011. This year the athletics department has partnered with the student group Dance Marathon at the University of Minnesota to host the event.
“Our hope and our expectation is just that this is something that really sticks with our school,” said former Gophers kicker Chris Hawthorne, one of the student-athletes who planned the event.
The event’s planners are continuing to fundraise and will collect donations during the second intermission of tomorrow night’s Gophers men’s hockey game.
