The Gophers hockey team has added two players to its roster, head coach Don Lucia announced Wednesday in a release. Nick Lehr and Robin Höglund have signed Acceptance of Admission agreements and are set to join the program.
Lehr, a goaltender, spent three years with the Austin Bruins, a North American Hockey League (NAHL) program. He led the league with 35 wins and was fifth in the NAHL in both goals against average and save percentage. He is a native of Roseville, Minn., and spent two years playing hockey at Roseville High School before heading to the NAHL.
Höglund, a forward, also joins the team after playing in the NAHL. He tallied 47 points in 57 games and was second on his team in scoring. Prior to the NAHL, he played for Troja-Ljungby in his native country, Sweden.
The Gophers men's hockey team will begin its season Oct. 10 against Minnesota Duluth at Mariucci Arena.
