Federal law enforcement authorities arrested a man Tuesday for allegedly shooting at the White House Friday night. One of the bullets struck a window, according to the New York Times.
Authorities put Idaho-native Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez into custody after Pennsylvania State Police arrested Ortega in a hotel in Indiana, Pa. based on information from Secret Service agents in Pennsylvania.
Secret Service agents heard gunfire Friday and reported seeing a car speed away. Agents found the car abandoned a few minutes later, along with an AK-47.
According to the Times, Ortega has a “background of legal problems and is said to have a history of aberrant behavior.”
So far, officials have said any motive is unclear but said the investigation involved all 122 field offices in the United States.
