Former Minnesota basketball coach Jimmy Williams can continue part of his lawsuit against the University according to the Minnesota State Court of Appeals.
Williams made claims that coach Tubby Smith had offered him a job, paying $200,000 which he accepted. Williams went on to quit his job with Oklahoma State and put his home on the market.
The only part of the suit which will move forward is Williams’ claim of "negligent misrepresentation," meaning the trial will focus on whether or not the information provided to Williams regarding a job offer led to substantial losses.
