Hip-hop artist Big Sean will headline the 2015 University of Minnesota homecoming concert, with indie pop band Smallpools and hip-hop artist Marc E. Bassy opening.
The three acts will perform on Sept. 25 at TCF Bank Stadium. Tickets went on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
Big Sean follows acts like rapper Iggy Azalea, who headlined at last year’s homecoming, and Passion Pit, which performed at the 2013 show.
Student Unions and Activities chooses homecoming acts based on student surveys and their own research, said Claire Koory, SUA program board coordinator.
Freshman Christian Adams said he’s most excited to see Big Sean perform. SUA first announced the acts to freshmen at a Welcome Week event last Wednesday.
Doors will open at 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 25. Students can buy general admission tickets for $20, and the general public can purchase tickets for $40. Suites and loge boxes will be available. Suites will cost $2,000, and six-person loge boxes will be $300.
