After three years of business, womenâÄôs clothing store Covered closed in Dinkytown last week, consolidating to its Uptown location. Stacy Larson, store owner, said business was doing “great” and the closing is not a result of the economic crisis. âÄúThe lease was up and we decided not to renew the contract,âÄù she said. President of Dinkytown Business Association Skott Johnson said the closing surprised him. Johnson said he was happy when Covered moved to Dinkytown because it increased the diversity of area businesses. âÄúI was happy to see a womenâÄôs store in Dinkytown,âÄù said Johnson. âÄúIt is good to have a mixture of everything.”
