As the days become longer and we have nowhere to be but home, we may be telling ourselves it’s time to start cooking real, homemade meals.

Northeast

Northeast Social: To satisfy American cravings during the pandemic, Northeast Social is your near-campus go-to. Delivery is available for customers within a two-mile radius of the restaurant and those outside of delivery distance can pick up takeout at the store. The restaurant has added more takeout-friendly meals to their menu, including ribs and brisket. Young Joni: This upscale pizza restaurant tucked in Northeast Minneapolis is still open for takeout at 165 13th Ave. NE. Phone lines open daily at 2 p.m., two hours ahead of the restaurant opening. Brasa Premium Rotisserie: The Creole-style restaurant located at 600 E. Hennepin Ave. is open, offering a slightly scaled back menu. Online orders can be picked up curbside or delivered. Dinkytown
Al’s Breakfast: The legendary breakfast spot’s full menu is available for takeout, and they’ve added items like pancake batter, bacon, corned beef hash, coffee beans, salsa and hollandaise sauce for bulk order. While Al’s is still cash only, you have the option of buying a prepaid tab on their website. Prepaid tabs run from $20 to $500. They are not completing orders through delivery services so orders are only for takeout/curbside pickup, but the exchange is contact-free and quick. Shuang Cheng: Open for takeout and curbside delivery. They are still serving their full menu and are not delivering through any delivery services. Shuang Cheng has created pick up stations to allow guests to wait at a designated station for their food while it’s being made. They do experience dinner rushes, so they ask for your patience as you try to get through to order on the phone because their lines will be busy. Wally’s Falafel & Hummus: Wally’s is offering takeout, curbside pickup, and delivery through Bite Squad and DoorDash. You can order over the phone, in-person or online. They are offering 10% discounts on all orders and 10% off with a student ID. Open daily, 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.; (612) 746-4776

Annie’s Parlour: Annie’s is closed as of April 2.
Frank from Philly & Andrea Pizza: Frank & Andrea’s will be open for takeout and online ordering, as well as delivery through DoorDash, Uber Eats, Bite Squad and Grubhub. As of April 2, Frank & Andrea’s will be donating $1,000 worth of their two-slice combo to those in need through an honor-based system. Black Coffee and Waffle Bar: Open for takeout orders and delivery. They do delivery orders through Uber Eats and Bite Squad, and they’ve also added their coffee beans to the menu. Add a note in the order if you want them to ground your coffee beans for you at the store. Ramen Kazama: Open for takeout and delivery. They are currently offering ramen kits delivered through Bite Squad. To cook the ramen kit, boil the noodles for 90 seconds, heat up the broth, add the broth and then the noodles to a bowl, and add your toppings.
