President George W. Bush won his bid for re-election on Wednesday.
His Democratic challenger, Sen. John Kerry, conceded Wednesday morning after a long night of waiting to get poll results from Ohio.
Bush told a group supporters in Washington, D.C. that he would work hard to unify the country. He spoke directly to those who voted for Kerry.
“To make this nation stronger and better, I will need your support and I will work to earn it,” he said. “I will do all I can do to deserve your trust.”
Bush said there will not be a limit to how great the country can be once it is united.
