A two-star recruit from Mansfield, Texas, verbally committed to Gophers on Monday, multiple recruiting services said.
Everett Williams, a 6-foot, 2-inch, 220-pound linebacker, became the sixth member of Minnesota's 2014 recruiting class. The Mansfield High School senior recorded 99 tackles last year, according to Rivals.com.
Williams has scholarship offers from Minnesota, New Mexico State, Louisiana Monroe and Navy.
He joins a class that does not have a premier recruit. Minneapolis Washburn running back Jeff Jones, a four-star recruit, committed to Minnesota last February but later reopened his recruitment.
