J.P. Macura, of Lakeville North High School, committed to Xavier earlier this afternoon. Macura, a four-star recruit, according to Rivals.com, announced the news via his Twitter account.
He is a versatile shooting guard that has shown promise as a sharpshooter from long range.
Minnesota and Creighton were other schools near the top of Macura's list of potenital schools, but the senior chose Xavier a week after taking his official visit to the school.
Macura is the first Minnesota recruit to sign from the uber strong 2014 class that also features top prospects Tyus Jones, Rashad Vaughn, and Reid Travis.
