Hemp has been âÄúdangerousâÄù in the United States since at least 1939, when the U.S. Department of AgricultureâÄôs Annual Report of Plant Industry explained, âÄúThe future of the hemp industry in this country seems to depend largely on the development of strains or varieties of hemp free from marihuana.
