Minnesota Student Association President Eric Dyer said Wednesday that student fees committee selector David Redlinger’s role on The Minnesota Daily’s Board of Directors does not present a conflict of interest.
Redlinger, one of two fees committee selectors MSA approved Tuesday, will finish a two-year term as a Daily board member Nov. 13, Daily President Joseph McKenzie said. Redlinger is also a Twin Cities Student Unions board member.
Dyer, who nominated Redlinger, said he does not consider Redlinger’s positions conflicts because Redlinger is not an officer for the organizations.
Student group officers are not eligible to be fees selectors.
Fees selectors choose students to serve on the student fees committee, which decides how fee money is divided among registered student groups.
