In light of statewide closures, some of Minneapolis’ best breweries have taken steps to offer alcoholic beverages to-go and by delivery.
Some students have happily been taking advantage of this development.
University of Minnesota senior Sally Frandrup said she has placed multiple orders at local breweries during quarantine.
“It’s just a fun thing to get out a little bit, still support small businesses and keep having great craft beer,” she said. “I’m glad they’re doing it.”
Here are the takeout and delivery beer options closest to campus.
Insight Brewing
Insight has been offering to-go orders for the five years since they opened, but in light of COVID-19, they introduced a beer delivery option in mid-March.
The menu offers two size options: 64-ounce glass growlers and 750-milliliter crowler cans. Growlers can be returned for $3 off your next growler purchase or a pint drink ticket, valid when the brewery reopens.
Delivery is available on orders of more than $20 placed within a 7-mile radius of the brewery.
To ensure same-day delivery, be sure to place your order an hour before close.

Bauhaus Brew Labs
At Bauhaus, a drive-thru is up and running. Delivery is also available within a 10-mile radius of their Northeast Minneapolis location.
750-milliliter crowler cans range from $8 to $10 each and growlers are affordable, capping off at $20.
In addition to their menu of lagers, stouts, pilsners and more, Bauhaus has merchandise and glassware for sale via their website.

Indeed Brewing Company
Indeed offers 750-milliliter bottles, crowlers and 64-ounce growlers. They even have cribbage boards for purchase.
Delivery is available anywhere in Minneapolis and some northern suburbs, including Columbia Heights and Robbinsdale, for a $5 fee. Orders placed outside of business hours can be scheduled ahead of time for when the brewery reopens.

If you are craving a cider, Sociable Cider Werks is the place for you.

Rounding out the list is HeadFlyer Brewing, located on Hennepin Avenue, north of the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood. Make sure to place your order by Sunday, as the brewery is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Customers within a 10-mile radius are eligible for delivery and orders placed by 4 p.m. are guaranteed delivery the same day.
