Senior setter Kellie McNeil has been having a stellar season at Lakeville North, where she’s an intrical part of the Panthers’ offense–which happens to be no. 1 going into the state tournament. Besides being named to the Star Tribune’s All-Metro team, McNeil claimed the top spot – Player of the Year – an award Gopher freshman Ashley Wittman won last year.
McNeil will officially sign with Minnesota on Wednesday and plans to graduate early from Lakeville North so she can enroll at the university and start practicing with the No. 22 Gophers.
McNeill’s younger sister, Taylr, has also verbally committed to the Gophers. Currently a high school freshman, Taylr was also named to All-Metro team as an outside hitter.
With their team currently making its way through the state tournament, Kellie and Taylr will get another chance to play together in the fall of 2014–once again as a senior-freshman sister combination.
