It turns out Michelle Obama isn’t the only notable Democrat to pay a visit to notoriously liberal Macalester College in St. Paul during an election season. Tomorrow, Macalester Democrats co-chairman Alex Rosselli told me, Martin Sheen (who plays a fictional politician on “The West Wing) will be at an on-campus ballroom to stump for U.S. Senate candidate, and ardent DFLer, Al Franken. Additionally, then-Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry spoke at the small liberal arts school during his 2004 bid for the nation’s highest office. Unfortunately for Kerry, none of the famous Sheen/Estevez clan spoke on his behalf. Maybe this means Franken’s got it in the bag. Karlee Weinmann Projects Reporter
