Minneapolis police have arrested a man in connection with the attempted kidnapping of an 18-year-old University student last week, Minneapolis Police Department spokesman Ron Reier said Tuesday.
No additional information was known about the man at press time.
The incident occurred Wednesday after a student was riding her bike in the 1000 block of University Avenue Southeast and was approached by a man, Reier said last week.
The man approached the victim, and during a discussion, told her he had a book she might be interested in borrowing. The victim followed the man to his apartment, and soon after, said she wanted to leave.
Reier said the suspect stopped her from leaving, and she began yelling until a witness intervened to help.
Police were then called to 1019 University Ave. S.E., Reier said.
