Gophers head basketball coach Richard Pitino announced Wednesday that Nate Pomeday will take over as director of basketball operations.
"We are extremely excited about the addition of Nate Pomeday to our staff," Pitino said in a release. "He has a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help us continue to grow as a basketball program."
Pomeday was an assistant coach at Oregon State for six seasons before coming to Minnesota, and was a guard at Northwestern during his playing days. He also has Division II head coaching experience. While at Oregon State, Pomeday worked primarily with the team's guards. He also assisted with recruiting and scouting, among other responsibilities.
Josh Adel, who previously held the position at Minnesota, will remain on the staff as an assistant to Pitino.
