Olympics update: U.S. volleyball will face Brazil for gold

The U.S. women's volleyball team defeated South Korea in three sets Thursday in the semifinals. The Americans will face defending champions Brazil in the gold medal match Saturday in a rematch of the 2008 Olympic final.

The U.S. won 25-20, 25-22 and 25-20, and Brazil beat Japan in three sets as well — 25-18, 25-15, 25-18.

Former Gophers setter Lindsey Berg played for the U.S. after injuring her left ankle in the final match of pool play and sitting out the quarterfinals. She made 65 sets, six digs, one block and 10 serves. Backup setter Courtney Thompson played some points as well.
