1. Eye of Horus

Eye of Horus specializes in all things metaphysical. Their shop is brimming with crystals, incense, tarot decks, and more. They also offer in-store tarot readings, astrology, and reiki healing. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth taking a look. Be sure to check out the fossil store next door — it’s radical in its own right. Massive bear skeleton, anyone?

2. Botanica shops

There are a few Botanica shops around the city, but they don’t appear to have websites. They offer a surplus of prayer candles, rosaries, healing herbs (and really strange herbs), as well as an interesting array of figurines. Definitely worth checking out. Last time I went to Botanica La Hoja Verde, the woman at the checkout gave me a free crystal and it made my day.

3. Present Moment Books and Herbs

Holy herbs! Present Moment sports a massive, floor-to-ceiling selection of herbs, as well as crystals and an impressive collection of tarot decks. Oh, and there’s an enormous used book collection in the basement. Present moment also offers readings with a lady named Tammy. The store is a lot less chaotic than the website, I swear.

4. Common Ground Meditation Center

Okay, so it’s not a store, but Common Ground Meditation Center is perfect for anyone needing a spiritual boost. They offer classes in stress and anxiety reduction, 12-step meditation groups, and frequent workshops. Best of all, their classes are free! Talk about community building.
