Mike Carman made it 3-1 when he jumped out of the penalty box and caught a behind the back pass from Jordan Schroeder for his first point of the season. Carman used a nifty move to bring Weslosky out of position and then slipped a backhander into the back of the net at the 11:46 mark. But the Huskies Offense wasn’t done and Garrett Raboin brought it back to a one-goal deficit when he pushed a shot through Kangas, who was protecting the post. After Roe’s initial shot sailed wide, Jared Festler picked up the loose puck behind Kangas and slid it to Raboin on Kangas’ right. With just over 1:30 left in regulation, R.J. Anderson was sent to the box, but the Huskies waited too long and didn’t pull Weslosky for nearly a minute, they had two great chances but couldn’t find the back of the net and the Gophers held on to win thanks to some pretty goaltending by Alex Kangas.
