The award is given to letter winners who are in their second year at their current college and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above.
Minnesota’s number of honorees ranks fifth among Big Ten schools, which Ohio State topped with 91 honorees.
The Gophers men’s hockey team had the most honorees with 14, even though the team had only 16 eligible players. The men’s basketball team collected the fewest with two honorees.
The men’s swimming and diving team, women’s swimming and diving team, and men’s gymnastics team all had 10 or more honorees.
The women’s gymnastics and wrestling team each had seven honorees, and the women’s basketball team had four.
