Following a solid week at the plate for the Minnesota baseball team, junior Michael Kvasnicka was named Big Ten player of the week. The announcement came following Kvasnicka leading the Gophers to a series win last weekend over Purdue to open the Big Ten season. Minnesota won two of the three game as Kvasnicka hit .583 with seven RBIs, three runs, two doubles and a home run. It was the first time that Kvasnicka has been named Big Ten player of the week. He joins junior Seth Rosin as the two players to have earned the honor for the Gophers this season.
