Sections of the East River Parkway on the University of MinnesotaâÄôs East Bank officially reopened Tuesday after being closed for construction over the summer.
The sections now open for use include those south of Arlington Street âÄî which connects East River Parkway to Pleasant Street Southeast near Fraser Hall âÄî and the ring around Delaware Street Southeast by the Weisman Art Museum.
Construction on East River Parkway began in July, University Services spokesman Tim Busse said.
The project has taken nearly four months to complete, but Busse said the road work is right on schedule.
âÄúWe said all along that the East River Road would open in November, and that has been the case,âÄù he said.
Although much of the road has been reopened, construction will continue in other sections around campus.
âÄúThe only street left now is between Arlington Street North to University Avenue,âÄù Busse said. âÄúThat is the last piece of the puzzle. I donâÄôt have a specific date for that one, but it will be open again in the next couple of weeks.âÄù
