Gophers women’s tennis team loses its second of the year

The Gophers women’s tennis team lost its second match of the season on Friday to Brigham Young of Hawaii, 4-0.
The match was delayed by rain, which forced the cancellation of three singles matches.
BYUH swept the three doubles matches, including the Gophers’ No. 1 team of Tarah Elkins and Jenni Svehla. Minnesota’s Alice Rangsithienchai won the first set of her No. 2 singles match 6-0, but lost the next two 6-4, 6-3.
The loss dropped Minnesota’s record to 9-2 this season.
The men’s team traveled to Penn State for a late match on Sunday.
